Move #6

Well, we've moved, again! These last few months have been the craziest months of my life. We've been renting and our home foreclosed on us. In April, Fannie Mae took over the house and gave us options as to what we wanted to do. We told them that we were interested in buying it, if the price was right. THe listing agent told me that we would find a price out within 3 weeks and it would be all good. Well, was she ever wrong. After 30 days, we received a 60 day eviction notice. The listing agent told us to ignore it. But I was constantly on the phone with the lawyers office, checking to see if Fannie Mae had canceled the eviction or not. Of course they never did! I called and emailed and called the listing agent for 2 months straight and never got returned phone calls or an answer as to how much the house was going to be listed for. Ou realtor was even calling her. No response. Well, 4 days before we were supposed to be evicted, our realtor called the listing agent and said that we had 4 days until we were supposed to be evicted and we wanted some answers now. She let us know that she was going to send in her info to the bank on the house. And why didn't she do that 3 months before? Who knows! But, it really screwed our situation up. She told us not to leave either. In the meantime, I had started to call Fannie Mae on a daily basis trying to get answers as to what was happening. Of course, no answers. FInally eviction day came, and we just continued to call and wait. The lawyers office told us they wouldn't be filing anything for another 3 weeks and hopefully by that time we'd get a price. Well, a week later, we received a Summons and COmplaint. Which meant we had 5 days to respond or else the Sheriff would be coming to escort us off the property. We were frantic! We called the bank, the listing agent, the lawyers office, and no answers still! So for the first time ever, I got nasty on the phone and demanded to know the price and refused to get off the phone before I got one. So 30 mins. later, I got a price. And let's just say the price was 20k over what it should've been. They said if we don't want to buy it at that price, we needed to leave within a week. A week? I was thinking... how the heck am I going to do this? I'm pregnant and anemic and so worn out from all of this junk I've been dealing with for months. So we sent the kids to Grandma's and Grandpa's for the weekend. And started packing as fast as we could. Jason did most of the packing. I packed as much as I could, but could only do so much before I couldn't do anymore. Friends from church found out what was going on and volunteered every day to take our kids and they brought in meals. We weren't just packing though, we were scrambling to find a place to live. We looked for rentals and realized that we would have to get into another year lease and didn't want that. And then we found a house that we liked and it was in our price range. A house to buy, not to rent. So we went and looked at it the next day and put our offer on it. It was accepted by the seller and was sent off to the bank that night. We couldn't believe it! So we knew at that time, things had changed. We needed to wait 45 days to hear back from the bank to know whether or not they accepted our offer. There were no month to month leases or anything. We looked all over the area and Sacramento too. We couldn't find a thing. So it was wednesday night and I called my mom to see if we could live with them. It was very humbling having to ask. She told me she needed to talk to my siblings that were living here and my dad and she'd get back to me thursday night. All day thursday we looked and looked for a place to live. But nothing was working out. And then thursday night, mom called and said that was fine if we lived with until we found out what was happening to the house we placed offer on. Soooo.... thursday night, we finally found a place to rest our heads, with only 1 day to spare before moving. The problem though was we had packed most of our house already and we packed to move into another house, not my parents house while everything we owned is in storage. Oh well. So Saturday morning came around and we had soooo much support from our ward and friends in the area! Our inlaws also came and saved the day! We loaded the u-haul, took everything to storage, came back and loaded it again, and made another trip to storage and then we headed to Oroville. We still needed to come back to Plumas Lake clean up a little bit and throw things away and take another little load to storage and bring one back to Oroville. So we went back on sunday, and with the help of my mom, got everything out of that house. We are now living in my parents house. My brother and sister are sharing a room and the 6 of us are in my brothers room. We are using our bunkbeds. Jason is on the bottom of the twin, Maci is on the top. And then on the full bottom of the other is Sadee, Elijah, and me. And Isaiah is on the top twin over us. We have a few shelved that we have our absolute necessities on. And the closet is packed with mine and jason's clothes and the kids' church clothes. The dressers were emptied out and each kid has his own bin with his clothes in it. And of course, Malcolm's crate is in the room as well. We went from 2000 sq. ft to maybe 150 sq ft. BUt we're just thankful that my parents have a room big enough to hold all of us and are letting us live here. I'm not complaining at all, just describing our lives. Soooo, there you go. We are living in Oroville, with my parents, and my 2 younger siblings. We will hopefully hear back from the bank in 45 days and if they won't negotiate with us, we'll move back to Plumas Lake and rent for a year and then try to buy a house. If they will work with us, then we'll stay here during the short sale process, which is usually 4-6 months. So that's our plan. And that's how we ended up back here for awhile. Life definitely has it's twists and turns. I guess only time will tell what happens with us. Hopefully we'll get things figured out before the baby comes. Fingers crossed!
