Christmas Tree Cutting 2007

So for the first time in the history of the Meyer Family, we went up into the mountains and cut down a Christmas Tree. We ended going up towards Bucks Lake and found some wonderful spots with beautiful views! We had a blast and are hoping to make a tradition out of it. Granit, the tree's aren't the prettiest since we don't have the Noble Furs in our area, but it's the journey that makes it's wonderful! So here are some pics.....
YAHOOO!!! We found our tree!
Boys and their toys :-)
Of course being in the mountains, Derek had to wear his Camo and bring his hydropack. As he was coming down the mountain, he took out probably 20 trees.... hahahah
And here is the clan, our family, Derek, Cami, Mom, Dad, & the Ford family! 2007

What a good looking tree-cutting crew! And to think we have a fake tree set up (boring) while my cousins actually cut one down. Sounds so fun!

Seems like yesterday we went up together and got stuck and got a flat tire, ha, to get our trees with y'all.

It's great to build a family tradition. Noelle had never had a real tree before we got married, so every Christmas we have had somewhere to put one, we have got a real one (we have been travelling one Christmas, homeless another, and last year had building materials everywhere so never put one up). But Christmas does not start the minute thanksgiving ends ;p You have to wait for December!

We normally get our tree and put the decorations up on Noelle's birthday (the 8th), that way the tree seems to make it through the entire Christmas, and it has become a fun tradition for Noelle!

Thanks for sharing your adventure :)
