Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is a very special day.... my mother's birthday! My mother, one of my best friends, my mentor, my example.... amongst many other things! I am so lucky to have such a great mother and our kids are so lucky to have such a wonderful grandma. Thank you mom for all you do for us!! I often think back to my childhood and remember how my mom reacted to different situations and how she handled things and it helps me with my own children. How she is so loving and kind and will do anything and everything for us kids, no matter how tired she was. And I'm especially reminded of the strength she always had in taking care of us. I appreciate her example from back in the day until now. I don't know what I would do without it and her! There is a song that reminds me of her every time I hear it. And the words are... "I watched you, dear mother, each day of my life; I've seen how you smile through the joy and the strife. I've needed your love and have known you were there. I've seen how you help to bring answers to prayers. The world that surrounds me is blind and unsure, but with you as my mother, I'm safe and secure.
