Feliz Cumpleanos!

Well, we just celebrated our birthdays a few weeks ago, on the 11th and 12th. The week was a good one.  And my Hermana Meyer's birthday email to us on Monday started the week off great! Here was the happenings from Jason's day.
I wanted him to take the day off from work since he had some days to use so he could get some rest.  I told him he could do whatever he wanted and I wouldn't nag him at all. HA! I think that's a great present in itself. ;-)

It was way windy that day! The sheep were across the street eating all of the grass. So we went to go check them out!

Uriah wasn't sure what to think of them.
The view across from our house.

Everyday Uriah brings something into the kitchento stand on to climb onto the counter.  At least it wasn't his truck that he usually brings in.
A good friend of ours brought cookies over for Jason! They were soooo good! Thanks Stacie!

Time to blow out all 3 candles! Ya, we didn't have 38.

Ezra was trying to blow them out before we started singing and I asked him not too.  His response, "You're rude mom." And he stormed off. Here's Jason, the nice parent, trying to console him.
And daddy always fixes everything!

The kids put on a dance performance for daddy!
They were all quite the performers.

And what birthday would be complete without Maci doing his hair?

All in all, it was a nice day for Jason.  He was able to just chill and relax and do absolutely nothing! Sometimes, we all need days like that, even if it only comes once a year!

My Birthday
My Birthday was a little different than Jason's. I got up early and quickly got everyone ready for school. Uriah slept in though, so I got to do a load of dishes! Yay! It was nice to get the kitchen cleaned before I even go the kids off to school.  I took Isaiah to school and came home and Jason was up cleaning and vacuuming. And this was all before 7:45am.  It was so nice and we actually got a lot done! Once we took the younger kids to school, I came home and Jason said he was staying home until 9am. So he watched the kids and I cleaned the downstairs bathroom. Once again, it felt great to get something done! Jason left for work and I sat down for a few mins and did my word search and my mom called. She sang our special family birthday song and told me that she was coming down and taking us out to lunch! Yahoo!

Mom and Ezra... Yay for Subway!

We went to Subway and hung out and talked while Uriah tore the place apart. We went for a drive and I showed mom more of our area.  The kids fell asleep and when we got back to my house, we just sat in the car and talked. We hadn't done that since before I was married. It was so nice.  Then my awesome neighbor brought me some treats, she is so thoughtful!  My mom and I came in and the boys slept for a few mins and I showed mom how to use ancestry.com. We talked about our family history and then the 3 younger kids walked in. What the? I looked at the clock and realized that I hadn't set the clock forward yet that I was watching to go pick them up. So they had a nice little walk home. Mom cleaned the toy room and then made Broccoli Casserole for us. Another good friend of mine, and her two boys brought me a bouquet of beautiful flowers! Thank you Donna! My mom left and Jason came home and we ate dinner and Jason took Maci to Activity Days at the church and the other kids and I watched The Flight of the Navigator. Then the kids went to bed and my dad called and sang Happy Birthday in Porteguese, which is another family tradition that I love and that was my day! It was a nice day! I didn't post on FB that is was my birthday, but people said Happy Birthday on there.  I didn't even check facebook that day until 7pm.  Which was a first for me.  So now I'm the big 3-4.  My brain says I'm still 25, and my body says I'm a lot older than I am. haha! But it was a great day!

Celebrations
The next Sunday after our birthdays, we headed up to Oroville after church.  I dropped Jason off at his parents so he could help his dad with something and the kids and I went to my Grandma's house and hung out there for a few hours.  I love my Grandma, she is awesome!  We then went back to the McOmber's and they had planned a big birthday lunch for us. Oopps... no one told me.  I guess they were waiting for us.  So we hung out there and ate some delicious food and opened some nice presents from my in-laws.I never have a whole lot of pictures from at McOmber events because all the adults run when I pull the camera out.  But I took some quick snapshots when we were getting ready to do cake.

After the McOmber's we went to the Meyer side and ate dinner and had cake and ice cream. We've always done all of our family things in their house, but since they re-did their back yard, we try to go outside as much as possible, especially since our family is getting so much bigger now.

I am so thankful for good friends and wonderful family to try to make our birthdays a special time.  Here's to another year!
