IT'S A BOY!!!!
Just wanted to let you all know that we had our baby boy! I didn't even end up getting induced because I went into labor early wednesday morning. My contractions were 10 mins. apart and very strong at 2:30 am. So I got up and got in the shower and they jumped to 5 mins. apart. So by the time we got out of the house at 3:45 am... they were 4 mins. apart. It was quite the adventure! Jason took the Plumas Lake Interchange that's not even open to the public yet, but it's done. And then he called CHP Dispatch and told them that a Jeep Cherokee with it's hazards on would be coming from Plumas Lake to Sacramento because I was in labor. Thank goodness we didn't get pulled over because he was going 90 the whole way. We got to the hospital at 4:20 am and my contractions were 3 mins. apart. I went into the labor room and I told the nurse that I was hoping to be like at a 5 or 6 so I could get pain meds because I was soooo tired and weak from being up all night. She checked me and laughed and told me I was at 9 cm! I couldn't believe it. So they took me into the delivery room and it just so happened that my Dr. was on call that night for computer duty. Dr. Katsuyama delivered Isaiah up in Oroville and ended up moving down here and is now working for Kaiser. We have a lot of history with him and he's a good family friend.... so I was very happy that he could deliver!! So we went into the delivery room and they couldn't do too much because I wasn't registered in the computer yet. So the lady was frantically trying to register me and Dr. K kept saying that she needed to hurry because as soon as my water breaks the baby will be coming out. Finally I got all registered and he broke my water and I started pushing. Oh boy..... it hurt!! I seriously thought that there was no way I could do this. I thought I was pushing for an hour.... but it was only 10 mins. At 5:13am, Elijah Timothy Stephen McOmber was born into the world! I looked at him and instantly thought.... it's definately another McOmber!! He looks just like Jason!! It's wonderful, but crazy! So Elijah hung out with me for awhile and I was anxious to see how big he was so the nurse took him and cleaned him up and weighed him. When I saw 9 lbs. 12.8 oz. show up on that scaled, I couldn't believe it!! I couldn't believe I was carrying such a big baby. He is 22" long also. But his weight explains a lot though. Why I was so especially tired in the end and just couldn't move very well. So yes.... he's here!!! He is doing great and I'm doing as well as can be expected. It is true what they say though.... the more babies you have, the harder recovery is. It definately hurts more now than before. But it's all good! Sooooo worth it!! We are so thankful to have Elijah part of our family! I have pics on the camera, but haven't put them on the computer yet. So I will hopefully do that tomorrow. As for now, I need to go lay down and rest! I just wanted to let you all know the exciting news! And once again, we thank you all for your love, support, and prayers! It means so much to us!!
